About Broad Ripple Canine Design

Our story begins with Derek Beatty, the proud owner and accomplished groomer behind our prominent establishment. Derek's journey into the world of dogs began in 1998 with the purchase of his first Weimaraner, Casey. As a young adult Derek traveled the country working for professional dog show handlers learning everything there is to know about grooming, training and animal care. His passion for dogs resulted in a remarkable career spanning over two decades as a professional in the sport. 

Through combined education and hard work, Derek has had the honor of breeding and show top-winning Weimaraners, Golden Retrievers, Old English Sheepdogs, Bouviers, Bearded Collies, Ibizan Hounds, and many other breeds at American Kennel Club dog shows.

In September 2023, Derek took a significant step by acquiring Broad Ripple Canine Design from its former owners, who had successfully run the business for over 30 years.  We are proud to have a team of highly skilled and talented groomers dedicated to providing exceptional grooming services for your pets. Whether it’s a simple trim or a detailed grooming session, our staff is equipped to handle every need with precision and care.
